The Monday Cub pack took on a challenge this term – to break a world record. After a night racing to build tin can towers (world record 3s for a 10 can tower) and sticking post-it notes to our faces (world record 60 post-its in 60 seconds), the Cubs identified a record that fit the whole pack… To beat the record for ‘most people riding a skateboard’ they needed to better 22 people (the record set by the band Weezer in 2008). Over four weeks they turned their ideas and plans for a big skateboard to reality, and then 26 of them rolled across the park on their skateboard, to break the world record!

They had a lot of fun playing with their skateboard. And have all learned something new whilst on the tools

Friday Cubs recently went on a treasure hunt hike. After an hour searching for answers to questions the cubs gained the treasure- a bag of chips which went down very well.

Two of our Cubs have been on another hike, this time a loop from Edenmill round Burncrooks reservoir. It took three hours to complete.

Two of our Cubs went on a hike recently along part of the West Highland Way, from Milngavie to The Beech Tree Inn. They managed to complete the eight mile walk in three and a half hours.

One of our Cubs went camping in Glencoe recently. He also hiked to the Steall Falls and Nevis Gorge.

Hopefully we will all be able to go camping again soon!

Leo recently completed a hike as part of his adventure challenge. He walked 4 miles and had all the correct clothing, footwear, snacks and drinks needed.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, the cubs made origami ox bookmarks during their zoom meeting.
